Travelling with children

Quickly through the family safety check with a borrowed pram. Let off steam at the Family Fun Gate for fun and games as the plane passes by and a last nappy change just before take-off. With the Family Services at Vienna Airport, passengers big and small can start their holidays relaxed. We explain how you can travel stress-free with ease!

Vienna Airport Tip

For families who want to take off or land at Vienna Airport absolutely stress-free, we offer our FAMILY SERVICE (bookable online).

A personal accompanying assistant will help you with baggage check-in, check-in and border control and will bring you and your family safely to the departure gate.

Eating with children

"Mummy, I'm hungry", the child shouts just a few minutes after arriving at the airport. Now it's time to react quickly so that the anticipation of the holiday doesn't rapidly turn into a downward spiral.

Vienna Airport offers numerous family-friendly restaurants and snack bars with special children's menus or an impressive view of the planes landing and taking off.

Fun: Family Fun Gate

A simple trick to make a flight with children fly by: let them run wild! Especially on long journeys or between two transfer flights, children should be able to romp around.

Little passengers can give free rein to their urge to move - whizzing around on a slide and climbing wall, jumping through a maze with a stuffed bag or crawling between metre-long foam snakes - at Vienna Airport's indoor playground (F Gates), which covers around 70 m2.

Quiet nappy-changing areas

It's not good to fly with full nappies. Therefore, use the baby changing stations at Vienna Airport to prepare your baby for a pleasant flight with dry nappies. You will find baby changing stations in almost all disabled toilets as well as in the large passenger toilets (e.g. in the baggage reclaim hall, in the arrivals hall or in the shop and restaurant area in the entrance area of Gates F and G) at Vienna Airport.

Borrow a pram

Sometimes things have to move a little faster on the way to an airport. That's why it's advisable to allow a little extra time with children, who often take a little longer. Vienna Airport will lend you a pushchair free of charge if you have already handed in your own pushchair at check-in. Use the borrowed pushchair until shortly before your departure and hand it over to the responsible gate agent only at boarding.

Pushchairs are issued free of charge at Vienna Airport at the following locations:

  • Terminal 3: Baggage Service Center
  • Terminal 1: Baggage Service Center

Pushchairs are available free of charge at the following locations at Vienna Airport:

  • Pier North: Security Service Centre after the central security check - Level 1
  • Pier North: Security Control/Authority Island 1 - Level 3
  • Pier North: Security Control/Authority Island 2 - Level 3
  • Pier North: Security Control/Authority Island 3 - Level 3
