Pharmaceutical-focused high-end services
VPHC provides high-end pharmaceutical services, delivered by experienced staff and executing certified processes in a brand new facility ideally located at the airport.
Pharmaceutical logistics is directly connected to land and air facilities, including very short tarmac distances to all aircraft positions. Dedicated pharmaceutical personnel are trained on all relevant training modules such as GDP awareness, time and temperature sensitive shipments, specialized refrigerated containers, etc.

The Pharma Handling Center at Vienna Airport
The Pharma Handling Center at Vienna Airport's Air Cargo Center opened in December 2018 and features a 1,650 m² cargo hall.

- 153m2 temperate 2-8 degrees Celsius
- Cooling to dry ice possible if required End to end solution with continuous cold chain
- Conditions of the pharmaceutical industry are fully met
- Fast and highly qualified handling of medicines directly from aircraft to road and vice versa
- Nearby parking positions for cargo aircraft ensure short
- routes and rapid clearance, after customs clearance the goods are loaded directly from the cargo hangar onto trucks for onward transport
- Through the VPHC, only pharmaceuticals are cleared, such as drugs, vaccines, generics
- In 2020, 1,697 tons of pharmaceuticals were already imported and exported via Vienna from January to October (+26.4% compared to 2019)

Vienna Airport is the only airport in Central and Eastern Europe that has its own pharmaceutical center with complete end-to-end pharmaceutical service, i.e. also offering handling from aircraft to truck and vice versa from a single source. Other airports have cold rooms, but they store pharmaceuticals mixed with other goods. The Pharma Handling Center at Vienna Airport is GDPcompliant certified.
