Facts & Figures FWAG (Gruppe)
Flughafen Wien AG is one of the few listed airports in Europe. As the developer, builder and full-service operator of Vienna International Airport, it offers the entire range of related services. This includes:
- Operational airport operations
- Ground handling services
- Security services
- Infrastructure providers
- Commercial activities
Favored by its geographic location in the center of Europe, Vienna International Airport positions itself as one of the most important hubs to the thriving destinations of Central and Eastern Europe.
At the Vienna site, Vienna Airport cracked the 31 million mark for the first time in its history and counted 31,662,189 passengers in 2019, +17.1% more travelers than in the previous year. Long-haul connections, as well as new flight connections and frequency expansions by the airlines, had a particularly positive effect. This was followed by a break in passenger and traffic figures with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the pandemic subsiding, passenger numbers are now rising again.
