VIENNA Lounge crowned as Europe’s finest: Vienna Airport Presented with the Excellence Award by Priority Pass for its Airport Lounge in Terminal 1

Vienna Airport was once again honoured for its outstanding service quality. The renowned Priority Pass Excellence Award “Lounge of the Year – Europe Winner” was handed over to Vienna Airport together with its partners such as DoN group and Leopold Museum at a ceremonial event held on site in the VIENNA Lounge on 5th of June 2025. The award celebration featured a photo spot on the panorama terrace, Austrian delicacies at the buffet, exclusive signature cocktails and live saxophone music for all passengers in the lounge. Thanks to its Viennese elegance, Austrian art, and cuisine as well as a panorama view of the airport apron, the VIENNA Lounge at Vienna Airport offers a place of refuge which is in a class of its own. It has now already been acclaimed for the second time within the Priority Pass network. The assessment is based on more than 781,000 evaluations and reviews focusing on the facilities, cuisine, service quality and overall experience. The worldwide market leader for lounge access is part of The Collinson Group. The global Priority Pass network encompasses more than 1,700 airport lounges and travel experiences at 725 airports in 145 countries.

“We are particularly gratified to receive this award because it comes directly from our guests. We owe our status of having the best lounge in Europe to their reviews. The VIENNA Lounge stands for our claim to fuse international comfort with a Viennese style. The fact that we have once again successfully demonstrated this quality in cooperation with our partners confirms that we are on the right track towards becoming a 5-Star Airport. I would like to thank all employees as well as our partners DoN group and Leopold Museum who have made this experience possible in the first place,” states Julian Jäger, Joint CEO and COO of Vienna Airport.

“The VIENNA Lounge is a prime example of precisely what we aim to celebrate the extraordinary efforts of our lounge and experience partners who continuously go above and beyond to delight travellers. It is impressive to see how everyone here pays so much attention to detail in their work – from the regional characteristics to the quality of service. The fact that this lounge was selected by our members as the European Lounge of The Year is a major achievement. We are pleased to celebrate this success together here in Vienna today,” says Chris Ross, EMEA Regional Chair and Chief Brand Officer, Collinson.

VIENNA Lounge is #1 in Europe: Award ceremony in the presence of customers and partners
The VIENNA Lounge at Vienna Airport was selected as the “Lounge of the Year, Europe Winner” at the Priority Pass Excellence Awards 2025. This accolade goes to the highest-rated lounges across the Priority Pass global network, based on 781,000 member ratings and reviews across a wide range of criteria, including quality of facilities, customer service, food and beverage selection and overall satisfaction. This already represents the second time in which the VIENNA Lounge has been granted an award by Priority Pass in the presence of representatives of Collinson as well as partners such as DoN group and the Leopold Museum. Numerous guests including lounge passengers, took advantage of this occasion for souvenir photos and discussions. Live music courtesy of Max the Sax created a very special atmosphere. The award confirms the premium quality of Vienna Airport and the VIENNA Lounge as a showcase of style and service.

VIENNA Lounge: Exclusive atmosphere, Viennese elegance, Austrian art and cuisine
Spanning an area of approx. 2,500 m², the VIENNA Lounge leaves nothing to be desired. Elegant interior decoration with design elements from the “Vienna School,” comfortable and high-quality furnishings and a panorama view of the airport apron combine to create a bright and pleasant ambience. The possibility to take a shower along with relaxation rooms and even a separate large meeting room looking out upon the airport apron are among the extensive services provided to travellers. The focus of the passenger lounges at Vienna Airport is first-class service and authentic Austrian hospitality, which becomes perceptible thanks to a committed team which works day in and day out to ensure that the guests’ stay at the airport is as pleasant as possible. The culinary concept is provided by the DoN group, Austria's largest privately run catering company. What is particularly impressive is the fact that the entire lounge is decorated with high quality art prints of well-known works of art by eminent local artists such as Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, and many others based on the airport’s collaboration with the Leopold Museum in Vienna. Travellers who spend time in the VIENNA Lounge will feel as if they are experiencing Vienna from its most beautiful side.

DoN group – Austria’s largest privately-run catering company

Leopold Museum curates selected art prints for the VIENNA Lounge
Thanks to its collaboration with the Leopold Museum, the artistic design concept of the VIENNA Lounge allows visitors from all over the world to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Vienna in 1900. High-quality reproductions show selected paintings and prints by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Koloman Moser as well as historical posters by exponents of the Vienna Secession from the Leopold Museum's collection. Among the works on display in the VIENNA Lounge are Egon Schiele's famous self-portraits and his unique depictions of women, most notably the portrait of Wally Neuzil, as well as Gustav Klimt's major work Death and Life.
