Volotea will launch direct flight service from Vienna to Bilbao

On March 29, 2018, Volotea will launch direct flight service from Vienna to a new destination. It will operate two weekly flights in the summer 2018 flight schedule to Bilbao, the largest city in Basque Country in Spain. Bilbao is already the fourth destination to be served from Vienna by the Spanish airline in addition to Marseille, Nantes and Genoa.

“We are very delighted that Volotea has added a fourth destination to its route network from Vienna and will offer flight service to Bilbao starting at the end of March 2018. As a result, a new, touristically and economically attractive travel destination will be directly accessible from Vienna. The port city of Bilbao, the largest city in Basque Country, is an important business location for the automobile component supply industry and is a tourist destination which is worth seeing, featuring one of the six global Guggenheim Museum sites. On balance, Vienna Airport offers 45 weekly flight connections to Spain. This year 540,000 passengers have already taken off towards this popular holiday destination. The launch of flight service by Volotea confirms the good development of this travel market and the good cooperation between the Spanish airline and Vienna Airport”, says Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG, who is pleased with the new flight connection.
