Passengers will soon be able to enjoy the outstanding food of Jamie Oliver at Vienna Airport. The British celebrity chef will open three of his internationally successful restaurants at Vienna Airport. A corresponding agreement has been signed between Flughafen Wien AG and SSP – The Food Travel Experts, which serves as the investor and operator of the three businesses. The culinary offerings will be available in the future at “Jamie’s Deli“, “Jamie’s Italian“ and a free standing bar covering an area of more than 800 m² located on Level 1 of Terminal 3. These three catering businesses will be successively put into operation starting in the spring of 2017 up until the middle of 2018. As a result, Vienna Airport is the first site in all of Austria to host the internationally well-known restaurants of Jamie Oliver.
“Around the world Jamie Oliver stands for high-quality products and a simple but innovative approach to cooking. These new catering facilities will expand the culinary offering at Vienna Airport and provide our passengers with a new and particularly high value gastronomical experience. In this way we are resolutely continuing our quality strategy. The new restaurants are an important milestone on this path”, explains Julian Jäger, Member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.
“Jamie’s Deli” to open in the spring of 2017
The opening of the first Jamie Oliver restaurant at Vienna Airport is scheduled to take place in May 2017. In addition to the famous “super food”, the focal point of this to-go concept is on take-away Italian dishes. “Jamie’s Italian” plans to open in December 2017. Passengers will be able to enjoy the innovative Mediterranean-inspired culinary creations of the British celebrity chef in a relaxed atmosphere featuring high-quality service. The free standing bar will be put into operation by the middle of 2018, especially offering travelers exclusive cocktails and small snacks.
Gradual set-up on Level 1 of Terminal 3
The Jamie Oliver catering businesses will be located on Level 1 of Terminal 3. The new offering will be easily accessible, in particular for passengers departing from Gates F and G. The adaptation and furnishing of the premises will start at the end of January 2017 and will be carried out in several steps until the middle of 2018. The existing restaurant area will be modified for the new facilities and gradually be replaced by the new offering. Starting in April/May 2017, passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy the first Jamie Oliver offers at the airport. In this way Flughafen Wien AG is upgrading its culinary offering at Vienna Airport. In the future passengers will be able to take advantage of the high quality culinary offering in all terminal areas thanks to the new Jamie Oliver food and beverage outlets of SSP – The Food Travel Experts, accompanying the high quality food served by Do & Co on Level 3 of Terminal 3 and Pier West.
