New for children: the Family Fun Gate at Vienna Airport

Vienna Airport now has a special attraction for children: Friday, 14 March 2014, is the opening date for the “Family Fun Gate“. In a separate area of Check-in 3, the youngest passengers can pass the time to take-off playing on a climbing frame, two slides, a climbing wall and much, much more. Entry is free of charge, and the adventure area is open around the clock.

“We want to create a relaxed atmosphere for all our passengers in the terminal and that, of course, also includes our youngest guests. Our new Family Fun Gate adds a new experience to the terminal, especially for children“, explained Julian Jäger, member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.

Adventure for children on 90 m²
The Family Fun Gate is located in Check-in 3, directly after the shopping area at the start of the F-Gates. There are several play stations in this 90 m² area, including two slides, a climbing wall, a climbing frame and a labyrinth with a revolving door and foam snakes. A nappy area is reserved for babies, and parents will find comfortable seating.

Pram rentals free of charge: Mobility and Family Service Counter
Useful assistance can also be found at the Mobility and Family Service Counter in the Check-in 3 departure area, which was developed by Vienna Airport in cooperation with several aid organisations for people with special needs. Among others, families can borrow prams free of charge if they need to check in their own stroller before take-off. The pram is then simply left at the gate when it is time for boarding. And for families who are not starting a trip: the VISITAIR Center at Vienna Airport has a number of interesting offers that include tours of the apron and a large Visitors Terrace with a wide-ranging view of happenings at the airport.
