Numerous shops and restaurants for passengers by summer 2013
 
Travellers can look forward to a variety of new shops and restaurants at Vienna Airport. Following the successful conclusion of numerous contracts with new operators, a number of new shops and gastronomy facilities are scheduled to open soon.
 
“A wide range of different shopping opportunities with strong brands and a diverse culinary offering are important factors for a positive travel experience at airports. Our activities in this area are based on international benchmarks. The expansion of our shopping and gastronomy offering and an increase in the attractiveness of the shopping areas in the terminals are a key element of our strategy to substantially improve the quality of services at Vienna Airport“, explained Julian Jäger, member of the Management Board (COO) of Flughafen Wien AG.
 
New shops with well-known brands for travellers at Vienna Airport
In Check in 2 a new Porsche Design shop and the fourth airport branch of the new souvenir brand Senses of Austria will open by the end of April 2013. Together with the three recently opened souvenir shops, Senses of Austria will operate approx. 300 m² of retail space in the airport terminals. Two new shops by the well-known fashion brands Desigual and Hugo Boss and the newly designed Frey Wille shopwill open during May 2013 in Check-in 2. Additional openings are expected in this area during the coming summer: a shop by the Italian Aeronautica Militare in Check in 2, a new store concept by Swarovski and, starting in June 2013, a new Billa supermarket in Check-in 1. The expansion of the Travel Value/Duty Free shops operated by Gebr. Heinemann in the F and G Gate areas is also in progress: by summer 2013, a new walkthrough shop by Gebr. Heinemann will open on approx. 1,200 m² in Check-in 2. A five-year contract extension with Gebr. Heinemann was recently concluded.
 
Wide-ranging culinary offering with new restaurants
Travellers can also look forward to an increased culinary offering: in May 2013 the Take Off Pub will open in Check-in 1 and a Delicatessen Shop with Austrian and international specialities will open in Check-in 2. A branch of the well-known Burger King restaurant chain will open in Check-in 1 during July 2013. Other facilities will also open soon, and ten contracts were extended with the gastronomy provider Airest.
 
Numerous shops and gastronomy facilities already in operation
A number of new shops have already started operations: several days ago, the well-known fashion brand Ferragamo opened its shop at Vienna Airport. Three Senses of Austria souvenir shops opened at the end of March, where travellers can find small gifts and mementos for their loved-ones. In the new Multibrand Fashion Shop in Check-in 2, fashion addicts can go shopping for designs by the well-known brands Canalli, Lagerfeld, Just Cavali and Paul & Shark on over 100 m². The new shop by Michal Negrin in the Plaza and the new Cafe Culto in Check-in 3 started operations at the end of February 2013.
