Vienna Airport: 1.8% increase in passengers during July 2012

 
The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose 1.8% year-on-year to 2,192,715 in July 2012.
 
Flight movements rose by 0.5%, while maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and cargo declined by 1.9% and 10.2% respectively. The number of transfer passengers was 1.0% higher than in July 2011, and the number of local passengers rose by 2.2% during this same period
 
The growth in passenger volume is expected to level off during the second half of this year due to capacity adjustments by the airlines. However, Flughafen Wien confirms its forecasts for the full year with an expected increase of 4% to 5% in the number of passengers, stable development of 0% to -1% in flight movements and a decline of 2% to 3% in maximum take-off weight.
 
Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe increased 5.5% in comparison with July of the previous year. The number of passengers travelling to Western Europe rose by 1.7%, and the Middle East recorded growth of 1.2% during July 2012.
