Flughafen Wien AG is looking for 18 new apprentices

 

Flughafen Wien AG currently has open apprenticeship positions: interested and motivated young men and women can apply for 16 training positions in technical areas and two in commercial areas. The application period is open until 14 February 2011, and the start of training is scheduled for September 2011.

 

Sixty apprentices are now undergoing training at Flughafen Wien AG for a future in technical or commercial professions. Their areas of specialisation include office administrator, automobile mechanic, sanitary/ventilation systems technician, ventilation systems installation, machinist, electrician (focus on special electrical equipment such as runway lighting) and electrical equipment technician (focus on special airport-specific equipment like baggage carousels and passenger stairways).

 

Training with an international focus

Flughafen Wien AG offers qualified apprenticeship training programmes with a focus on internationality and personal development. In addition to their professional education in a workshop directly at the airport, these young men and women have an opportunity to also attend seminars and courses such as IT, English and rhetoric to support their technical and personal development. At the same time, the apprentices can add to their training in Vienna with valuable professional experience in other countries through programmes at Munich Airport or language courses in Malta. Flughafen Wien AG has been a participant in the ?Leonardo? international apprentice exchange programme since 2003.

 

With nearly 18,000 employees in 230 companies on site ? thereof roughly 4,000 directly at Flughafen Wien AG ? Vienna International Airport is the largest employer in the eastern region of Austria. A further 52,500 jobs throughout the country are directly or indirectly related to the airport.
