On balance, the month of June 2025 was characterised by a stable development. Total passenger volume in the entire Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) rose 1.5% year-on-year to 4,031,270 travellers. Due to the conflict situation between Iran and Israel, passenger traffic at Vienna Airport was down slightly to 3,008,513 travellers (-0.4%) but nevertheless remained at a very high level.
The number of local passengers at Vienna Airport climbed 1.1% compared to June 2024 to 2,363,752 travellers, whereas transfer passenger traffic fell to 612,698 travellers, comprising a drop of 9.0% from the previous year. The number of flight movements in June 2025 increased slightly by 0.4% year-on-year to 21,969 take offs and landings. Cargo volume totalled 25,776 tonnes, an increase of 3.9% from the comparable figure in June 2024.
Details on passenger traffic
In June 2025, passenger traffic from Vienna Airport to Western Europe fell slightly by 0.8% from the previous year to 1,052,150 passengers. The number of passengers flying to Eastern Europe in June 2025 amounted to 271,063 travellers (+2.1%). Vienna Airport reported a total of 45,225 passengers flying to North America (+3.3%), and 26,980 travellers to Africa (-2.9%). Passenger traffic to destinations in the Middle East fell 24.5% to 55,103 travellers in June 2025 due to the conflict situation between Iran and Israel. However, this negative effect was largely offset by strong passenger growth of 28.5% to 54,100 travellers flying to destinations in the Far East.
The strategic investments of Flughafen Wien AG also developed very well. Passenger volume at Malta Airport showed a rise of 7.5% to 923,374 travellers in the month of June 2025. Kosice Airport handled a total of 99,383 passengers, which represents an increase of 9.5% from the prior-year month.
Accumulated passenger volumes from January to June 2025: +2.4% at Vienna Airport and +4.7% in the Flughafen Wien Group
The total number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in the period January to June 2025 increased by 2.4% from the previous year to the accumulated figure of 14,736,470 passengers. Total cargo volume from January - June 2025 equalled 154,001 tonnes, a rise of 9.1% from the prior-year level. Passenger volume in the entire Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) in this six-month period was up 4.7% to 19,598,242 travellers.

Cargo volume totalled 25,776 tonnes, an increase of 3.9% from the comparable figure in June 2024.

In June 2025, passenger traffic from Vienna Airport to Western Europe fell slightly by 0.8% from the previous year to 1,052,150 passengers. The strategic investments of Flughafen Wien AG also developed very well. Passenger volume at Malta Airport showed a rise of 7.5% to 923,374 travellers in the month of June 2025. Kosice Airport handled a total of 99,383 passengers, which represents an increase of 9.5% from the prior-year month.

Total cargo volume from January - June 2025 equalled 154,001 tonnes, a rise of 9.1% from the prior-year level. Passenger volume in the entire Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport and Kosice Airport) in this six-month period was up 4.7% to 19,598,242 travellers.
