British Midland International: a new airline lands at Vienna International Airport
The British carrier British Midland International (bmi) will introduce two new connections from Vienna to London with the start of the summer flight plan for 2010. Yesterday, on 28 March 2010, the first British Midland International flight took off from Vienna International Airport to London Heathrow. In cooperation with Austrian Airlines, these two Star Alliance partners now offer five daily flights from Vienna to London. These flights are serviced with Airbus A320 aircraft.
The flight times are as follows:
Vienna - London Heathrow: 11:40 am - 01:05 pm and 07:50 pm - 09:15 pm
London Heathrow - Vienna: 06:05 am - 09:25 am and 01:45 pm - 05:05 pm
Vienna is one of the most interesting and lively cultural centres in Europe. With these new daily flights between Vienna and London, we are able to connect two popular European cities. British Midland International also offers excellent connecting flights from London to destinations in Great Britain and Ireland, explained Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, Chief Executive Officer of British Midland International.
British Midland International is a welcome international airline customer for Vienna International Airport. These new connections will make destinations in Great Britain and Ireland even easier to reach from Vienna. At the same time, Vienna International Airport offers tourists as well as business travellers top connections to Eastern Europe, indicated Herbert Kaufmann, member of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG.
The British Midland International flight network comprises 46 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. This airline carried 10 million passengers in 2008.
